What is
Elder Abuse
Elder Abuse refers to any act that causes harm or distress to an older adult, whether through physical abuse, emotional abuse, neglect, financial exploitation, or other forms of mistreatment. This abuse can occur at the hands of family members, caregivers, or others in positions of trust.
At Amberly’s Place, we are committed to protecting vulnerable seniors by providing support, resources, and advocacy to ensure their safety, dignity, and well-being.

What can you do?
Learn the Signs & Speak Up:
Educate yourself on the warning signs of elder abuse, including physical injuries, sudden financial changes, emotional withdrawal, or poor hygiene. If you suspect abuse, report it to local authorities or Adult Protective Services.
Stay Connected with Older Adults:
Social isolation is a major risk factor for elder abuse. Regular check-ins, visits, and phone calls help ensure seniors feel supported and less vulnerable to mistreatment.
Advocate for Stronger Protections:
Support policies and programs that protect seniors from abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation. Encourage better training for caregivers and stronger enforcement of elder abuse laws.
Volunteer or Support Local Resources:
Get involved with senior centers, advocacy groups, or here at Amberly’s Place where we assist elderly victims. Your time, donations, or advocacy can help provide crucial resources for those in need.
